Robert “Bobby” Simpson Hines, 82, died unexpectedly at home on June 30, 2022.  

He was the son of the late Ernest M. Hines and Dorothy B. Hines of Rescue, VA. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved and devoted wife Paula; his daughters, Bobbi Lynn Perkins (Gerald), Teresa Ross, Sheryl Goodwin, step son, Timothy Hancock; his brother George Melvin Hines, Sr (Sharon), and sister-in-law Harriet Hines (Paul-deceased); his grandchildren Thomas (Hallie), Anthony (Kayla), Timothy (Christina), Cassandra (Lucas) and five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He loved his family and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was a union pipe fitter and welder. After his retirement he worked at Hines-Farley Offshore Yachts and then at Enterprise Rental Car. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, 11 a.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, with burial to follow in Battery Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
