Firemen feeling the pinch

WINDSOR — The Windsor Volunteer Fire Department has gone 10 months without funding from Isle of Wight County as of the end of April, according to Capt. Dale Scott.

Meanwhile, it’s getting closer and closer to the end of what Windsor can manage to pay on its own, Scott said.

“Then what will we do?” he asked, adding that residents are giving donations to keep the station running, but everyone is hoping the Board of Supervisors will finally open its eyes to the situation.
