Irene Marie Reynolds Current

 

Irene Marie Reynolds Current, 88, passed away at home Saturday, June 27, 2015 after a brief illness.  Born in Midvale, N.J., Irene was the daughter of the late Harry W. Sr. and Marie Ebele Reynolds.  Formerly of Butler, N.J., Irene was the wife of the late, Donald Drake Current (d.2005) 

A resident of Smithfield for more than 17 years, Irene was an member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Mature Methodist Women and was especially interested with the food pantry ministry of the church and with the Isle of Wight Christian Outreach Program.

A beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Irene leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Patricia Ferrence of Sumter, S.C. and Donna Bernstein of Richmond; five grandchildren, Amy Collins, Scott Bernstein, Jennifer Clemmons, Tommy Ferrence and Melissa Bernstein; eight great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Courtney, Tyler, Ashlynn, Zyon, Chloe, Isabella, and Alexa; two sisters, Dorothy Coss and Jean Miller (Don); a brother, Harry W. Reynolds Jr., and a host of extended family and friends.

A service celebrating Irene’s life will be held Friday, July 3, 7 p.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Andrew Ensz officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Activity Center.  Burial will be private.

The family suggests memorial contributions to IOW Christian Outreach Program, PO Box 253, Smithfield, VA  23431.
