The Smithfield High School girls’ tennis team completed its season as the runner-up in the Region 4A tournament.

The Packer girls were the No. 8 seed going into the regional tennis tournament last week. The Packers defeated No. 1 seeded Warwick High School 5-0 on May 20. The Packers defeated No. 4 seeded Menchville High School 5-0 on May 24. The Packers girls lost 5-0 to Jamestown in the regional finals on May 26.

The young Packer team finished the season at 6-7.
